| What was your first job?
I worked at Brueggers Bagels for 3 weeks in high school but I used to vomit every shift bc the sausage and bacon grossed me out so much (I was a vegetarian) so I had to quit. Plus I realized very young that I could never have a "normal" job.
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
It had been in the back of my mind for about a year but it just seemed so farfetched. I was trying to get head shots for acting and ended up shooting some nude pictures for a photographer. I've always been very modest and it really surprised me how different (in a good way) I felt after. I felt free. I can't really explain it but I woke up one morning about 6 months ago with this epiphany and just this gut feeling it was the right thing to do. I contacted an agent and the rest is conveniently recorded on the Internet for your viewing pleasure :)
How did you come up with your stage name?
My best friend was saving the name Carter for her daughter but she oh-so-generously let me have it because it fit me so well!
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
They think its awesome. Of course they were shocked and confused (as well as worried) at first but after seeing how happy it's made me they have been 100% supportive.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
I think it takes a lot of resilience. You have to be able to adapt to your environment. You have to be mentally and physically strong because porn is extremely rough on your body as well as taking you places mentally you may never have been. You have to love sex and be comfortable and proud of who you are. You have to trust yourself and your intuition. It's like any job in entertainment but harder because of the stigma attached to it
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
Hm... I guess I would still be in school, doing what everyone told me what the "right" thing to do was and wondering why it made me so unhappy.
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
A couple times but nothing major, get back to me in a year ;)
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
Video, I've never thought of myself as very photogenic so I get really nervous at photo shoots still.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
I hate my ears haha other than that I am happy with my body. Sure, sometimes i realize I've been lazy and need to tone up or something but porn has made me love my body in a way I never thought possible. I used to think my boobs and pussy were weird and now I love them!
What is your favorite sex toy?
I'm not a big toy person but I'm a girl so I obviously love my hitachi :)
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
Not as much as I would like to considering my hectic travel schedule (I haven't had a real home in months!) but now that I'm more settled I definitely want to get back on that grind! I like to run, surf, do yoga, but I also do enjoy weight training. I like to feel strong.
What is the last book you read?
The White Album by Joan Didion. It's a collection of her short stories
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show?
It's very rare I find a TV show I can sit through especially past one season so not really. I didn't have a tv growing up so I guess I never really got into that.
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
Old fashioneds made the old school way!
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
Skiing and snowboarding ;)
What is something about you that not too many people know?
I write poetry but its just for fun, I'm not very good haha
