| What was your first job?
For most of my life before porn I was a nanny. I worked with all different kinds of families. I really loved it and miss working in childcare.
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
My first scenes were shot in August of last year (2013). I originally started out doing live webcam shows and selling custom homemade amateur content. I did this for about 6 months before I received an email from a talent scout and a few weeks later I started shooting.
How did you come up with your stage name?
Back when I only did webcam shows and custom content, I went by the alias "SweetKush". One night, at a weekly swingers party my boyfriend and I used to frequent, a fellow camgirl advised me to give myself a real name, something to distinguish myself. So I went home and browsed through a site with millions of names for babies. Karla popped up and it just felt right; cute, fun; feminine, simplistic; all qualities I feel define me and my persona.
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
The ones who know are very happy for me and proud of all I've accomplished. I've been tactful about whom I choose to share info about my career choice with.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
Despite many misconceptions, the adult industry is just like any other business, there are ups and downs and the best advice for it, and life in general, is to stay grounded. Life is fleeting and bizarre and it's a gift; we need to do our best to enjoy every moment; each experience, no matter it's nature, gives us power, insight and growth if we allow it to.
Is there anybody special in your life? Or are you looking for somebody at the moment? If so, what do you look for?
I'm in an open relationship with my partner of three years. We met and were together for two years before I got into the adult biz. He actually just started doing his first xxx scenes in the past few weeks and is loving it. Were now both signed to the same talent agency and are a happy, healthy, loving couple.
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
Probably still in childcare, it's been a lifelong passion.
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
No, thank goodness, it could be cool but I'm also glad it hasn't happened.
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
Usually video shoots include photo shoots. It's rare in the adult industry that a video is shot without any photos taken or vise versa. I like being photographed as well as being shot on film, they both have unique and positive attributes.
Where is the most exotic location you have shot at?
I did a virtual vacation for ATK in Malaysia and Singapore. It was such an incredible experience.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
I'm not a fan of my feet. I do my best to be easy on myself and not self deprecating through, so I will say my whole body is wonderful and a miracle just in the fascinating ways is which the human body functions.
Who is your favorite adult star (past or present)?
I never really followed any adult stars before I got into the industry. I saw porn as a utility and not a hobby so the talent's names weren't important do long as they fit the fetish I was in the mood for. Now that I've been doing porn for about a year, I have some favorites because I have met and interacted with so many fantastic porn folks. Riley Reid was a definite favorite and Daniel Hunter is also fantastic.
What is your favorite sex toy?
A hitachi or a nice big hard dick. Or a sexy lady.. Hehe
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
Yes, I'm very passionate about health and fitness. My favorite exercise is yoga, I practice poses at home every day. I also love working with weights, I'm really into squats, lunges and dead lists. Love building my booty, legs and abs.

I have two cats; a Siamese named Fiona and a black domestic short hair named Pablo.

I don't have a television, by choice I should specify, but I like to stream comedy shows on my computer when I'm in the mood to veg out on the couch with my bong and my sketchbook. Favorite shows are; American Dad, South Park; Bob's Burgers, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia; Louis CK, and a few others.
What is your dream car?
A Tesla. No more petroleum, electric cars are the way of the future! ;)
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
I don't really drink, I find that it dies not agree with me. On rare occasions though I do like to enjoy a nice glass of wine.
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
I don't have any particular brands I go for. I'm into thrifting and buying recycled clothes. You never what you'll find and I love that aspect of it.
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
Hmm.. I am learning to play the harp..
