| What was your first job?
I was a barista at a drive-thru coffee hut
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
I started out camming and was found by a recruiter for an adult talent agency. I gave it about a weeks worth of thought & decided I was going to give it a shot. My first handful of scenes were shot in December 2013, I took a 6 month break & started shooting again in May 2014!
How did you come up with your stage name?
I didn’t name myself actually, the first thing my agent said when he saw me in person was, “You look like a Dakota. How do you feel about that?” I had no clue what my stage name was gonna be, so I rolled with it.
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
I’m very lucky that my family is super supportive & I found out who my real friends were; simplistically put.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
It takes someone with thick skin, their head on their shoulders & someone who is true to themselves. I’ve learned to not care what others think & focus on myself.
Is there anybody special in your life? Or are you looking for somebody at the moment? If so, what do you look for?
Nobody on a relationship level, nor am I looking for anyone. I can’t commit to someone right now, I rarely have time for myself, let alone another being.
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
If I hadn’t joined, I'd probably still be camming & going to school as that was my original plan.
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
I do, I’ve been recognized plenty in Alaska. Most people ask to take a selfie with me, had a few ask for my autograph lol. It’s definitely a weird but humbling feeling.
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
I like both, but some days I’d rather just do a photo shoot.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
I’ve learned to not to look at the negatives and just be comfortable & love my body entirely.
What is your favorite sex toy?
My Hitachi, duh
Do you exercise on a regular basis? What kind?
I try to when I’m at home in Alaska, mostly cardio & abs.
Where did you go on your last vacation (not work related)?
I stayed in Arizona the winter of 2013
Do you have any pets?
I wish, don’t have the time for one right now. My family has a chocolate lab though; Maggie.
What is the last book you read?
Fifty Shades Freed
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show? Song?
I rarely have the time to watch anything, but trying to finish Dexter & I started Supernatural not long ago
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
Chardonnay, Sweet Riesling & Pinot Gris are my fave wines
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
I wear mostly Hollister jeans & always have. Gotta love my Vans & Chucks!
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
I looove to hike, rock climb, & longboard.
What is something about you that not too many people know?
I plan to go to school for forensic science eventually
What's your ordinary day like? A day in the life of Dakota James...
I work at a bikini coffee shop when I’m home & not shooting. My days generally consist of work, gym, tending to emails & social media, smoke, eat & sleep.
