| What was your first job?
It was for Razzle and Club International, a photo shoot and video for each magazine.
How and when did you get into the adult industry?
2006. It was a mixture of reasons. I’d done some self shot implied nudes at college on my photography course, friends and family said they thought I looked really natural in front of the camera. I wanted to pursue glamour photography but found it tough to be taken seriously. I noticed a few female glamour photographers started off as models. I decided to send my images into Paul Raymond Publications and see what happened, they rang me the next day and invited me to shoot for three of their magazines.
How did you come up with your stage name?
When I started I was just Faye, its my real name and I can’t imagine ever using a different one. Then the X got added because I hated writing my surname so I just put a cross in the surname box on releases. Sometimes I’m Faye Taylor when I need a surname for publication.
How do your friends and family feel about your decision to be an adult model?
I was planning to tell my mum I’d done some topless modeling but as I was telling her she said something like ‘is it for a porn mag?’ then she shouted in my dad and said ‘our Faye’s gonna be in a porn mag!’. They both thought it was a novelty and have been supportive ever since. I’m lucky to have very open minded parents.
What does it take to make it in a tough industry like the adult business? What important lessons have you learned so far?
I think we’re all different. Some models like to do absolutely anything and everything for money. You have to be a yes man to a certain extent to establish yourself as reliable, but I’ve got to the point where I realize if something’s not my thing I’ll just say no and I won’t be pressured. You have to enjoy what you do and not just do it for the money because it will become a part of your life. This business isn’t for everyone, I’ve seen girls come and go, take on too much and then burn out. I’ve learned to take things in my stride and enjoy the opportunities that come my way.
Is there anybody special in your life? Or are you looking for somebody at the moment? If so, what do you look for?
The main things I look for in a guy are an open mind and an insatiable taste for the wanderlust. I’m not the kind of girl who can be bought ironically, you’re more likely to get somewhere with me if you have common interests that you can talk to me about like books, video games, films, I’m kind of a nerd.
If you had not joined the adult industry, what do you think you would be doing now?
Oh my god I dread to think! I was an art student all my life, then I studied photography, people always used to joke, ‘what do you say to a fully qualified art student?’…. “big mac and fries’. I’d be doing something creative I think. I like my freedom, I’ve never worked in an office and I’ve never done 9-5, I’d rather be broke. I sometimes have this fantasy of just living off the land on an island somewhere like in Lord of the Flies, but the reality is they don’t have xbox and peroxide!
Do you get recognized in real life? Any funny stories?
A few times in nightclubs, I come from Sheffield in Yorkshire and I make a big point of talking about this in my videos and posting pictures online when I’m out and about. Sometimes I get responses on facebook like “I’ve just seen you at the bar but I was scared to speak to you’. I think the funniest story is when I was out clubbing with Natalia Forrest and they wouldn’t let us in a nightclub so she showed the doorman a g/g video and said ‘we’re licking each others clits’, they of course let us straight in!
Do you prefer video or photo shoots?
I’m gonna have to be a fence sitter and say both! I like stills because I love photography, but I think video gives you a chance to be more natural and just let things happen without thinking about all the technical stuff.
What are your favorite and least favorite parts of your body?
My favourite is probably my bum, I get a lot of compliments on it and in real life I’m known for my very short mini skirts. Least favourite has to be my hair! I’m a natural brunette but it doesn’t suit me plus all my favourite icons are blonde, so it’s a total pain keeping it blonde all the time!
Who is your favorite adult star (past or present)?
Right now I have a little crush on Tori Black, I first saw her in a clip getting dp’d and thought she was so naturally stunning. She has that whole cute but glamorous thing going on, I think she’s absolutely gorgeous.
Where did you go on your last vacation (not work related)?
I went to Madrid in January for a few days, it was amazing, I went to the Reina Sofia art gallery to see Guernica by Picasso. I also loved how late all the bars stayed open, I’ll definitely be going back!
Do you have any pets?
I have a very cute Siamese kitten who lives with my mum, he’s very noisy and demanding!
What is the last book you read?
The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. I read it while I was on holiday, I’m reading the sequel now.
Do you have a guilty pleasure TV show? Song?
Loads of them! I’m unashamed in my liking of things that are what I call good rubbish. I love Murder She Wrote and Prisoner Cell Block H. I think my musical guilty pleasure is probably listening to video game soundtracks.
What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
Either White Zinfandel or a screwdriver.
What are your favorite brands of jeans? Shoes?
I love Guess shoes, they are so feminine and classic, plus they make me taller.
Do you have a hobby that would surprise most people?
I collect videogames and videogame memorabilia. Although being a nerd is cool right now!
What is something about you that not too many people know?
I’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years.
Do you have any special talents?
I can get my toes in my mouth, which comes in handy for foot fetish videos!
